What is the USPS Mobile® website and how can I use it?

The USPS Mobile® website provides customers with the ability to perform popular USPS.com functions via their internet-capable mobile device. By using the USPS Mobile website, customers can access key USPS® services practically anytime, anywhere.

You are able to access the following services from the USPS Mobile site:

  • Buy Stamps: Allows you to purchase from a selection of postage stamps available on the Postal Store.
  • Ship Online: Provides you the ability to create and print domestic Priority Mail Flat-Rate® shipping labels.
  • Track: ‘Track’ helps you easily check the status of your packages. Simply enter your package label number and ‘Track’ will provide you with latest delivery status information for your package.*
  • Schedule Pickup: Allows you to schedule a next-day package pickup.
  • Locations: ‘Locations’ is designed to help you find locations near you.  After entering location information (i.e. ZIP Code™, address), ‘Locations’ will provide you with a list of the nearby Post Office™ locations along with the location hours and services provided. You can also specify what type of Postal Service™ location you are looking for such as a retail Post Office location, self-service kiosk (formerly, Automated Postal Center® or APC®), or a USPS collection box®.
  • Prices: Allows you to calculate a price. Once you enter the ZIP Code you are shipping from, the destination ZIP Code, and the shape and weight of the item, prices are displayed for your shipping options.
  • ZIP Codes™: ‘ZIP Codes’ will help you look up ZIP Code(s) for a specific city or address. You will be able to search by address, by city/state, or you may search for a city by ZIP Code. After you enter a city/state combination or an address, ‘ZIP Code’ will provide you with a list of the ZIP Code(s) for specific locations.  When you enter a ZIP Code after selecting “Search for a city by a ZIP Code”, the city for that ZIP Code is displayed.
  • My USPS™: Allows you access a dashboard that displays your incoming USPS® domestic packages in a central location to view status information and manage your packages. You can check the status of your packages at any time from a computer or web-enabled device.
  • Change Address: Allows you to conveniently change your address from your mobile device. A $1 identity validation fee is required. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Do I have to be a registered USPS.com® user to purchase stamps or create and print a shipping label via my smartphone?

Yes.  You must be registered on USPS.com in order to make stamp or label purchases using a smartphone.

Why are only a portion of USPS® postage stamps available for purchase on smartphones?

The stamps that are available to purchase via smartphones are the most popular stamps among Postal Store customers. The stamps offered on mobile will change to coincide with new releases and seasonal demands.

If you wish to purchase stamps other than those listed, you may simply click on “Postal Store desktop” to view and order from the full catalog of postage stamps and merchandise available on the Postal Store® page.

What methods of payment are accepted when ordering stamps via smartphone?

Like on USPS.com desktop, you may pay using American Express®, Mastercard®, Visa®, and Discover® credit cards.

What method of payment is accepted when generating a Click-N-Ship® mailing label via smartphone?

You may pay using American Express, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover credit cards or PayPal®.

How long does it take to receive stamps purchased via mobile? 

The Postal Store® ships all in stock orders with the USPS Tracking® service.  Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery.  Pre-or back-ordered items will ship separately as they become available.  All stamp orders are charged at $1.25 Handling Fee on domestic orders of up to $50.00, and $1.75 if the order is greater than $50. These fixed handling fees apply to only the portion of the order total that is stamp and philatelic products.

Personalized Stamped Stationery

All Personalized Stamped Stationery products are charged a Priority Mail Flat Rate® depending on how many boxes are ordered as specified in the PSE Shipping Charges table, and should be received within 7-10 Business Days.

Pre- or Back-ordered Items

If your order contains pre- or back-ordered items, all in-stock products will ship within 7 – 10 business days and any pre- or back-ordered items will ship separately as they become available.

Is there a transaction amount limit–for stamps and shipping labels–purchased via smartphone?

You may purchase up to 10,000 items (stamps) from the Postal Store. You may create and print one domestic Priority Mail flat-rate shipping label at a time when generating a Click-N-Ship® label via smartphone.

How do I change or cancel an order placed for stamps via smartphone?

After an order is placed for stamps it may not be canceled via smartphone. You may cancel your order by accessing your activity history from a personal computer.

Can I return postage stamps purchased via mobile to my local Post Office for refund? 

Yes.  Stamps purchased using USPS Mobile may (based on the decision of the local office) be exchanged for new postage (of the same value) under the following conditions:

  • A customer bought the wrong denomination stamps (or the wrong kind), and the following conditions are met:
    • Only full panes of stamps, coils of stamps in the original sealed wrappers may be exchanged.
    • A customer exchanging $250 or more of such stock must show proof of identity (e.g., driver’s license) and must present the stock for exchange to the postal unit from which his or her mail is delivered.
  • Stamps that are damaged or otherwise unusable for postage (because of humidity, moisture, or other causes) while in a customer’s possession may be considered for exchange if the following conditions are met:
    • Unusable stamps accepted from a customer under these conditions must be those on sale at local offices within 12 months before the transaction.
    • Quantities of the same denomination over $10 must be returned in the same configuration as when bought, i.e., sheets, coils, booklets.
    • Each such transaction is limited to $100 worth of postage from each customer.
    • The stamps presented for exchange must be in substantially whole condition, with the denomination evident.
    • The stamps may be exchanged only for an equal number of stamps of the same denomination.

Note:  Stamps cannot be exchanged due to a price increase since they are still valid for the postage amount indicated on the stamp.  Instead, you should purchase additional stamp to make up the difference between the old and new prices.

The following postage items are not exchangeable:

  • Mutilated and defaced stamps.
  • Stamps cut from stamped cards, stamped envelopes, or aerogrammes (airletter sheets).
  • Parts and pieces of stamped cards.
  • Stamped cards, stamped envelopes, and aerogrammes received for reply.
  • Adhesive stamps, unless one of the following conditions is met:
    • Mistakes were in made in buying (and the conditions stated above are met).
    • The stamps were defective.
    • The stamps were affixed to commercial envelopes and postcards.
    • The postage stamps were converted to an advance deposit for permit imprint mailings (request for such conversion is approved or denied by the district manager).

The Postmaster at the local office makes the final determination as to what postage items may actually be exchanged.  For more information or questions about refunds on other items purchased at a Post Office™ location, contact the local office directly.

How are fees for shipping labels and postage stamps refunded? 

Click-N-Ship® mailing labels are eligible for refunds when the following requirements are met:

  • You did not print your label with postage and put it into the mailstream.
  • You submit your refund request (one label at a time) from your Click-N-Ship Shipping History. When you find your label, click Actions and select Request a Refund.
  • You request your refund within 30 days of the original transaction date.
  • You should request a refund if you do not print your label before 11:59 p.m. on the Ship Date.

The request will be verified, processed and your credit card account will be credited if approved. Please allow up to two billing cycles for your refund to be posted to your credit card statement. Processing refund requests can take up to 14 days. Posting to your account is dependent upon your financial institution. You will receive an email notification once your refund request has been approved.


  • Refunds are only allowed for the entire postage amount, not portions of the postage, and must be processed through the website or provider that you used to print the postage.
  • Refunds for Click-N-Ship labels cannot be processed through the retail counter or Post Office™.
  • Click-N-Ship customers using the Priority Mail Express® service must present the Online Label and Online Label Record to Postal personnel at your local Post Office for acceptance processing to receive the money-back service guarantee and be eligible for a service related refund. The service commitment for Priority Mail Express varies on when the item is mailed, where it is deposited and the destination.
  • The refund process for Signature Confirmation™ fees for online labels is the same as for Retail labels and should be requested at your local Post Office
  • Your online label can be used only as it has been printed, without any alterations. If you find an error in your label, print a new label with the correct address and request a refund from your Click-N-Ship Shipping History. Any item which has a manually-altered online label will be returned to you. Your label may be reviewed or edited before printing at the Enter Label Information and Review Cart pages.
  • For Click-N-Ship desktop, if some of the labels in your Shipping Cart did not print but you want to cancel the entire order, you may request a refund for the labels that did not print by submitting a refund request from your Shipping History.

How do I download and/or print a Priority Mail® shipping label using a smartphone? 

Creating and printing a domestic postage label is easy.  Navigate to m.usps.com and select the “Ship Online” option to create a Priority Mail domestic flat-rate shipping label and send it to your wireless printer or email it to yourself as a pdf to print later.

What type of printer and/or software is needed to create and print a shipping label?

Any printer that is a wireless printer and is compatible with your smartphone’s Operating System should be able to print a shipping label. You may also email a label to yourself as a pdf. 


 Usability and functionality may be limited on phones using WAP browsers.
