What is the IVR system?

The Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system is the telephone system that provides automated USPS® information. When a customer calls 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777), the customer service telephone number for the U.S. Postal Service® (USPS®), they will hear

a greeting, then a language choice option (press 2 for Spanish). 

Features of the IVR system:

The IVR has been designed with the customer in mind, soliciting responses that will get callers to the right information swiftly. Software will allow customers to use their own words to diagnose the reason for calling.

The IVR menus have been designed to provide ease of access to self-service options and information to customers. The following tasks can be completed without agent assistance:
